Accountants Act 2010
The Accountants Act 2010 provides the statutory foundation for the Institute of Solomon Islands Accountants and establishes the legal framework for the development and regulation of the accounting and auditing profession in Solomon Islands.
The Act provides for matters including:
- the establishment and functions of ISIA;
- membership of the Institute;
- the governance and Council of the Institute;
- the Secretariat;
- registration of accountants and other regulated practitioners;
- accounting and auditing standards;
- disciplinary matters; and
- rules and regulations supporting the administration of the Act.
The Accountants Act 2010 is the principal legislation governing the Institute and the accountancy profession in Solomon Islands.
